comments : 1 Day Moreton Island 4WD Tour Departing Brisbane in your 4WD vehicle, its a short drive until you reach the car ferry for the journey across Moreton Bay. On the ferry you can spot dolphins, dugongs, turtles and whales (in season). Upon arrival its out to The Desert, where you will get to experience the thrill of sandboarding. From here you travel to the eastern side of the island, where you get to experience the beauty of Blue Lagoon. After a swim, a fresh picnic lunch is waiting for you. Once you have eaten its up to the northern end of the island, where you will learn about QLD's oldest lighthouse. This is also the best vantage point on the Island for marine watching, where dolphins, whales, turtles, sharks and stingrays all play. From here its down to the most romantic place on the island, Honeymoon Bay before journeying across to the waiting ferry, and back into Brisbane. 2 Day Tangalooma Dolphin Resort Day 1 ? Departing Brisbane in your 4WD vehicle, its a short drive until you reach the car ferry for the journey across Moreton Bay. On the ferry you can spot dolphins, dugongs, turtles and whales (in season). Upon arrival its out to The Desert, where you will get to experience the thrill of sandboarding. Or take part in snorkelling, quadbiking or sailing (own cost), or just relax on the beach before catching a fast catamaran back into Brisbane. 2 Day Moreton Island Safari Day 1 ? Departing Brisbane in your 4WD vehicle, its a short drive until you reach the car ferry for the journey across Moreton Bay. On the ferry you can spot dolphins, dugongs, turtles and whales (in season). First stop, The Desert, where you will get to experience the thrill of sandboarding. The ultimate in adventure. From here travel to the eastern side of the island, where you get to experience the beauty of Blue Lagoon. After a swim, a fresh picnic lunch is waiting for you. Once you have eaten its up to the northern end of the island, where you will learn about QLD's oldest lighthouse. Its then back to camp, where dinner will be prepared, before settling in front of the campfire to toast marshmallows and enjoy the seclusion that Moreton Island offers. Day 2 ? After breakfast, its up to the northern end of the island, enjoying the magic of Honeymoon Bay. From here we head south, stopping at Spitfire Creek to learn about the significance of this area for the Aboriginal people who used to inhabit the Island. Its then lunch at camp with a final swim at Blue Lagoon, before we head across to the famous Tangalooma Shipwrecks, where you will snorkel with sub-tropical reef fish. A highlight of the trip. It's then onto the ferry and then back into Brisbane. 3 Day Moreton Island Safari Days 1 & 2 ? The itinerary is the same as in our 2 Day Moreton Island Safari Day 3 ? After breakfast, its time to venture to the highest stabilised coastal sand dune in the world ? Mt Tempest. At 285m it offers 360 degree views of the island and the surrounding Moreton Bay. From here journey south to the southern wetlands and Mirrapool Lagoon. View migratory waders and many other birds as they stop here on Moreton to take a break from their journey, and also try to spot the majestic dugongs as they feed on the eelgrass fields. Then in the afternoon its back onto the ferry for the relaxing return journey to Brisbane, watching the sun as it sets over the beautiful Glasshouse Mountains.
